TULSA, OK – Jan Fisher, of Las Vegas, NV, was the champion in the $500+50 Limit Hold’em contest Sunday, August 5^th, during the “Ladies Poker Association” (LPA) Pro Tour at the Cherokee Casino. Jan collected $11,622 for 1^st Place in the 63-player field. 

            “Everyone is great here,” smiled Jan Fisher. “I love it. Cherokee has been great to me.” This is the third event Jan has placed in at Cherokee this year. She placed first in the Scotty Nguyen Challenge III Ladies event and second in “duplicate poker” during the Oklahoma State Championship of Poker.

            “The LPA Tournament is an exciting event. The LPA wasn’t kidding when they said ‘Serious Women. Serious Poker.’” Rick O’ Connell, Director of Table Games said. “The ladies were quite aggressive with their plays. We didn’t see anyone who was afraid to get their chips all-in.”

            As the final table was sat, the women laughed, told a few jokes and the first eight hands were all-ins. Jan Fisher looked over at Linda and said, “I’d love to bust you out.”
